Evernote This note taking program has been a a vital source that I have utilized this semester. I would not have known of Evernote’s capabilities if not for English 167 in all honesty. I have used it for many classes to take my notes in as well as organize important information during this semester. During my Communications class this year I have used Evernote to take notes and tag important information so that during online testing I can merely search the tag of an important key word in a section and have its information appear in front of me automatically. I have actually invested 75 dollars into Evernote for the Premium version. I have, and will continue to use this for the next year, so I believe it is a crucial part of my schooling strategy to have.
I do know that Zotero could be useful if I were use it at the beginning of the year with all of my research papers. What I have found is that Zotero is great if you are an avid researcher. I, instead of Zotero, use Microsoft word’s Research Tab and cite my sources as I collect them for my research, and then Word provides me with an APA, MLA, Chicago etc. style of Works Cited/Research/Bibliography page that I need for my project. If I were a sparatic researcher and did research on a project on the same computer whenever the opprotunity arose, then yes, I would use Zotero more. With the classes I have in the upcoming semester I may use Zotero more.
Here are the only items I have ever kept with Zotero https://www.zotero.org/hatisbig/items
To make this simple for all who are reading; I would only see myself using WordPress for school portfolios administered by a professor. True, I could start my own blog on cooking or hockey, but unfortunately I do not have time for that. I barely have time for keeping up with schoolwork! WordPress is a site that may just fall through the cracks of my work flow with time.
